How To Use
Sprinkle Westland Bone Meal evenly around the base of plants, along planting rows, or into the bottom of planting holes before adding new trees, shrubs or bulbs, then lightly rake or work it into the top layer of soil. It can also be applied around established plants in spring or autumn to support ongoing root development. Always follow the application guidance on the pack for the specific plants you are feeding, and water in after application to help the nutrients begin working into the soil.
Tips & Advice
Bone meal is particularly useful at planting time, as its slow-release phosphate content helps new roots establish before growth accelerates above ground, so it’s worth digging a little into the base of holes when planting trees, shrubs or bulbs. Store the bag in a dry, secure place away from pets, as the smell can be appealing to dogs, and use gloves when handling to keep hands clean. For best results, apply during the growing season rather than in very wet or frozen conditions, when nutrient uptake is limited.
