How To Use
Unscrew or unclip the base of the feeder, fill the tube with whole or shelled peanuts, then reassemble and hang it from a sturdy branch, bracket or feeding station, ideally somewhere sheltered and visible from a window. Position it away from fences or low branches that squirrels could leap from, so the outer guard has room to do its job. Top up regularly, especially in colder months when natural food sources are scarcer, and remove any empty shells or debris that collect around the base.
Tips & Advice
For best results, hang the feeder at least a metre or so from any structure a squirrel could jump from, as this makes the squirrel-proof guard far more effective. Always use good quality, fresh peanuts free from mould, and give the feeder a periodic wash with warm water to keep it hygienic for visiting birds. If you notice seed or peanut debris building up beneath the feeder, moving it slightly every few weeks can also help keep the area beneath it tidy and reduce the chance of attracting unwanted rodents.
