How To Use
Use in a well-ventilated area, away from any naked flames or sources of ignition. To thin shellac-based finishes such as french polish or button polish, add the methylated spirit gradually, stirring to reach the desired consistency before application. For cleaning brushes and equipment, decant a small amount into a suitable container and agitate the tools until residue lifts away, then wipe dry with a clean cloth. Always reseal the container tightly after use and store it upright in a cool, dry place out of reach of children.
Tips & Advice
Because mineralised methylated spirit is flammable, it’s worth keeping it well away from heaters, pilot lights and other heat sources both during use and in storage, and wearing gloves if you’ll be handling it for any length of time. When thinning polish, add it a little at a time rather than all at once, as it’s much easier to loosen a mix further than to correct one that’s become too thin. Any leftover product should be labelled clearly and kept in its original container to avoid confusion with other household liquids.
